                A dialogue is a piece of conversation between two or more people.

 


                 SAMPLE DIALOGUES: 


1)    Develop a dialogue between a subject teacher and a student asking for permission to leave early due to illness.

 

               Student   : Good morning madam.

               Teacher   : Good morning Anuja.

               Student   : Madam, I want to go early today.

               Teacher   : Why? What is the problem?

               Student   : Madam, I am not feeling well.

               Teacher   : Oh! What are you suffering from?

               Student   : I am suffering from headache.

              Teacher   : Ok. You can leave early today. But make sure that you cover today’s study after  you feel well.   

              Student   : Sure madam. Thank you very much.

              Teacher  : You are welcome. And consult a doctor. Take care.

              Student  : Thank you madam.

 

2)    Develop a dialogue between a book seller and a customer regarding ‘availability of books'.

 

               Customer     : Excuse me sir?

               Book Seller  : Yes! How can I help you?

              Customer    : I want to take some books.

              Book Seller  : Sure! May I know the name of books?

             Customer    : I want Communication Skills, Physics and Chemistry books.

             Book Seller  : Let me check.

            Customer    : Is it available sir?

             Book Seller  : Yes. Here they are!

            Customer    : How many rupees sir?

           Book Seller  : 485 rupees only.

           Customer     : Ok. Here it is. Thank you very much sir. Good day.

           Book Seller  : Welcome. Good day.

 

3)    Develop a dialogue between librarian and student about losing the borrowed book.

 

              Student    : Good morning Sir!

               Librarian  : Good morning! How can I help you?

  Student   : Sir, I have lost a book of the library that was issued to me last week.

  Librarian  : (Asks name and checks the issue record). You were issued two books last week.   Which book did you lose?

             Student   : ‘Business Communication.’

 Librarian  : Oh! This was actually an old copy we had. It is not easily available in the market. You should have been careful about this.

             Student   : I am extremely sorry for this. Please guide me, what I should do now?

 Librarian  : You have to purchase the same book from market and submit it here. In case the  book is not available, you have to pay the fine.

Student   : Sir, I will try my best to get the copy of the book. What would be the deadline to submit the new copy?

           Librarian  : You can submit it till next Friday.

            Student    : All right Sir. Thank you.

 

4)    Develop a dialogue between two friends regarding importance of reading.

Sam   : Hi Sunil!

Suni l : Hello Sam!

Sam   : What are you reading?

Sunil  : This is one of the famous historical novel in Marathi.

Sam   : Is it related to kings, emperors and all?

Sunil  : Yes it is. We get to know about the history, the kind of life people lived then, the difficulties they faced that time etc

Sam   : I would also like to read such books. You know even I am fond of reading.

Sunil  : Yes, you can take my copy as I finish reading. Along with fiction, reading non-fiction is also beneficial to gain knowledge and information.

 Sam   : Yes, you are right. Reading magazines that are published for specific and general purposes helps us a lot in our professional and social life.

Sunil  : Right! Even reading newspaper daily keeps us updated about what is happening around.

Sam   : True! Inspirational and motivational reading also helps us keeping our   emotional   balance.

 Sunil : Very true! Reading itself is a huge source of acquiring knowledge.

Sam   : Exactly! Reading is important not only for students but for each and every person to   understand the life in its true sense. Well, I will take your leave now. Bye!

Sunil  : So keep reading. Bye!
